My name is Wei Beh and I am currently a third-year Psychology student at the University of Southampton. The aim of this blog is to provide evidence of my learning journey throughout one of my modules, titled “UOSM2008 Living and Working on the Web”. This module will introduce me to a new method of learning, whilst developing my online profile. I hope my time throughout this module will be an enjoyable journey.
Here is a table that represents my self-assessment of using the internet. The table consists of a scale from 1-5; 1 being inexperienced while 5 being experienced. I will again self-evaluate myself at the end of this module by completing the last 2 columns.

|Building online networks around an area of interest||2||I have limited online networks which I believe needs to be created or further developed. I mostly use them for person reasons, therefore online networking could improve this skill.|
|Collaborating with others on shared projects||3||Regularly, I collaborate with people in groups for presentations and most of the time, it is a smooth process. However, I think I need to expand my horizons than just group presentations.|
|Creating online materials (text, audio, images, video)||2||I have very little experience with creating online materials, however, I do use Photoshop to create images or enhance some of my photography.|
|Managing your online identity||2||My social media is rather limited, for instance, I do not own a Facebook or LinkedIn account, I think that creating accounts for these sites will increase my online identity.|
|Managing your online privacy and security||2||Usually, my social media is public, however, little information on my personal life is detailed. Despite this, there are i.e. photos and opinions that I do not want to be public.|
Q1. Why did you choose the module?
I have always had an interest in the online world, particularly blogging. Regularly, I use the social networking and blogging website Tumblr to chronicle my life, which mainly consists of travelling. I believe this module will help me develop skills that will be useful for all walks of life. In addition, by studying this module, I hope to develop a stronger and better online presence.
Q2. What in particular do you want to learn from the module?
From this module, I would like to improve my social networking platforms as well as learning how to curate accurate and relevant information. Furthermore, I believe this module can enhance my skills of working on the internet as a platform.

I have not studied online before. However, the internet has helped me create blogs through YouTube videos.
